Remote Coding Quality Reviewer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a part-time basis, the Remote IP Quality Reviewer will access and review medical record documentation for coding accuracy using ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT coding systems, entering findings into proprietary tracking software and responding to coder rebuttals as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records for coding and abstracting accuracy according to established quality review policies
- Utilize facility EMR and scanning technology to conduct reviews and document findings
- Respond to coder rebuttals in a timely manner as defined by quality review procedures
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of medical coding or review experience
- High School Diploma (relevant experience may substitute for formal education)
- Active credential such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CIC, or COC
- Ability to maintain coding credential while employed
- Successful completion of the coding competency exam
