Remote Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding & Charging Specialist - Remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to assign diagnoses, procedures, and charge codes
• Collaborate with clinical co-workers on facility and professional coding and charging responsibilities
• Adhere to ethical coding standards and official coding guidelines

Required Qualifications

• A.S. from an accredited Nursing or Health Information Management program or equivalent clinical experience
• At least 6 years of coding and/or charging experience in ICD-10-CM/PCS and/or HCPCS/CPT coding
• Working knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, MS-DRG, APC, or MPFS/RVU payment methodologies
• Certification as RN, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CPC-H, or CIRCC, with one certification required within 6 months of employment
• Preferred: B.S. from an accredited Nursing or Health Information Management program
