Remote Coding Team Lead

Job Summary

Supporting a remote coding team, the full-time Coding Team Lead will mentor coders, manage escalated cases, and ensure accurate abstraction and coding of surgical procedures while demonstrating expertise in ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Serves as the primary source for coder inquiries and reviews documentation for compliance
• Abstracts and codes surgical procedures, applying appropriate modifiers and managing complex edits and denials
• Analyzes data, provides reports for management, and collaborates on playbook development and updates

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical records experience required
• Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
• Ability to work independently and self-motivate on new projects
• Knowledge of coding requirements for anesthesia providers and care team structures
