Remote College Islamic Beliefs and Practices Adjunct Instructor

Job Summary

An institute for higher education is seeking a Remote College Islamic Beliefs and Practices Adjunct Instructor.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Introducing the students to the ideas that shaped Islamic history
• Teaching about the basic belief system, rituals, mystical traditions and Islamic societal interaction
• Teaching about the Prophet Muhammad in depth and examing various sources of historical record

Required Skills:

• An earned doctorate in theology and/or religious studies with a documented specialization in Islamic theology, thought, and culture
• The ability to document knowledge of and familiarity with the Catholic intellectual tradition and prior teaching experience
• A strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education
• Enthusiasm for teaching in a student-centered learning community
