Job Summary
A provider of insurance products and services is in need of a Remote Commercial Lines Specialty Underwriter.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Solicit and develop new niche and program opportunities through agency travel and relationship development
- Underwrite new and renewal business for niche and program business
- Refer potential risks outside of your authority to department manager after pre-underwriting is complete
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, marketing, finance or management preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial multi-lines underwriting experience, including experience working with large ($10,000,000+) agencies
- Professional insurance designation (e.g. CPCU) preferred
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to analyze and interpret underwriting manuals, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Thorough understanding of the regulatory and policy differences among states in which business is transacted
- Working knowledge of ISO based products and services (i.e. rates, rules & forms)
