Job Summary
A non-profit grassroots environmental organization has an open position for a Remote Community Outreach Coordinator.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Assist in education efforts of area residents regarding community environmental risks and solutions
- Work closely with the appropriate chapter staff and organization leaders
- Assist the appropriate staff and volunteer leaders with planning and implementation of assigned programs
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Ability to travel as needed; valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and proof of auto insurance
- Experience with at least one community organizing or mobilizing project
- Ability to interact positively with community residents, volunteers, staff and the public
- Demonstrated interest in the environment or related public interest issues
- Ability to clearly explain complex issues and effectively communicate them to community residents
- Ability to provides program support as needed, including handling phone inquiries, administrative support
