Job Summary
ContentBacon is looking for writers who understand firearms and their uses, including loading and reloading, for our content needs, including but not limited to blogs, white papers, eBooks, long-form content, etc. Our ideal team member must understand best practices for writing in the digital space, what it takes to create content with a specific tone and voice, and knows how to tell a compelling story.
We are looking for writers with experience writing for the following areas:
Different types of firearms and how to use them safely
Proper weapons maintenance (and the need to do so)
Ammunition - proper round selection, loading, reloading
Concealed carry requirements, considerations, and equipment
Different ways firearms are used (hunting, personal safety, recreational shooting, sport)
Familiar with culture and terms
Able to navigate delicate distinctions between definitions (ie., tactical vs. assault)
Understands accessories and customization options for specific firearms/usage
Bonus for being able to write from a female's POV (if the candidate is not a female)
Responsibilities and requirements:
2 years professional writing experience in B2B-focused content or has completed extensive college writing coursework and can hit the ground running.
Collaborate with a team of editors and strategists to ensure content is on point and fits the customers' needs
Take time to understand the customer's business, brand voice, and audience
Create clear, custom content
Writes with SEO in mind and implements best practices for all content created
Follow ContentBacon's process for writing/submitting work
Be deadline-driven and communicative
Submit examples that showcase your work
Open to feedback and view it as an opportunity to grow
Have a strategic mindset - understand the piece of content being written and how it fits into the bigger picture
