Job Summary

This is a deliverable-based virtual contract role providing edit reviews. Editors are responsible for making sure the writing fits each specific client's editorial style and standards. Editors excel in ensuring that all learning material is clear, correct, concise, comprehensible, and consistent.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Review every page, line, and word to ensure complete adherence to standard English rules of grammar and syntax.
Correct all errors and inconsistencies in spelling, punctuation, syntax, voice, and general grammar.
Ensure content follows a logical progression throughout learning solution.
Edit complex materials including training course components, facilitation materials, scripts, websites, graphics, proposals, marketing content, and other client deliverables.
Clearly communicate proposed revisions for content improvement to the project team.
Adhere to client style guides and brand standards above all other resources, even if it goes against your instinct and conventional grammar standards.
Analyze client feedback, consult client style guide(s) and other sources to determine validity, and dispute or implement revisions as necessary.
Ask clarifying questions to better understand unfamiliar concepts or otherwise unclear content.
Consult client style guides and brand standards on a regular basis to reinforce familiarity and ensure strict adherence.
Collaborate with editing team on a regular basis to ensure efficiency and consistency across deliverables.

CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS
Tax Status of C Corp, S Corp, or LLC (with tax classification of C=C corporation or S=S corporation)
Evaluation of samples representing work to be completed while contracting with ttcInnovations
Applicable equipment and software

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Ability to think critically about every aspect of a document, from punctuation and word choice to discerning the author's meaning and ensuring it comes through clearly
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Ability to follow strict style guides and brand standards
Experience editing in the style and context of technical writing
Ability to stay abreast of current grammar standards and trends
Effective use of questioning techniques
Ability to deliver work in a subject-to-change, deadline-oriented environment
5+ years of previous experience in editing
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
