Job Summary

A nonprofit media company is filling a position for a Remote Copy Editor.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Flex your editing muscle
• Maintain the high quality of our stories and publishing our work online
• Help draft corrections, clarifications and updates to stories

Required Skills:

• Can make sure all copy is consistent and typo-free
• Has experience working with Google Docs and publishing tools,
• Knows how to bulletproof and polish hard-hitting investigations and longform narratives
• Is meticulous in examining copy and matching facts in text with those presented in graphics, video and on social media platforms
• Has razor-sharp news judgment and an unshakeable sense of fairness
• Has at least three years of experience as a copy editor at a news organization
