Job Summary

Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness: Data Analyst (temporary, 50% time, not benefit-eligible) to work with staff members in the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE). The position is renewable for additional years dependent upon satisfactory annual review and funding.

Duties

Develop data visualizations/self-service reports using Tableau
Train office staff members in use of Tableau
Work with office colleagues to provide reports, analyses, and data in response to both mandatory external reporting requirements and internal ongoing and ad hoc requests
Reports to the Associate Director for Institutional Research and works collaboratively with the Assistant Provost and the two Data Analysts in the Office.
Carries out other duties as assigned, such as assisting with the creation, administration, and reporting of online and paper student and employee surveys.
This is a remote/home-based position (limited to specific states) reporting to and communicating with supervisor located in Oxford, Ohio.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social sciences, business, education, or another field that provides applied social science research skills and two years of professional experience in higher education in a role involving data analysis; or Master's degree with one year of work experience (professional or during graduate enrollment) in higher education or in a role involving data analysis.
Candidates proceeding to interviews will be required to provide work samples
Demonstrated experience with Tableau
Demonstrated understanding of research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation in education, business, or social sciences settings
Demonstrated experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written), including the ability to manage multiple tasks and to function independently
Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures
This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents ( green card holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an Ellucian Banner ERP environment
