As our business grows rapidly in the US, we are opening a new position for a Data Engineer. In this role, you'll guide our F500 client-base in the creation and maintenance of analytics infrastructure that enables almost every other function in the data world. You'll work on the development, construction, maintenance and testing of architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems.
This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the US.
Job Responsibilities
Create data integration systems using Python for MPP databases such as Vertica, Redshift, or Snowflake.
Create Spark transformations for the purpose of data lake ingestion.
Schema and data modeling for MPP/columnar/data lake technologies.
Development of SQL scripts for repeatable schema and configuration deployment to MPP databases.
Linux shell scripting for administrative tasks.
Required Skills/Experience
BS/MS in Computer or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Experience processing data with languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, C#, R, etc.
3+ years experience working with data in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with columnar MPP systems such as Vertica, Redshift, Snowflake, Paraccel, Greenplum.
Comfortable with Linux/Mac command line tools.
Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres.
Experience with NoSQL/cache technologies such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticache.
Hands on experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming.
Familiarity with modern tooling such as Git, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD Pipeline technologies.
Strong SQL skills: Analytic functions, explain plans, optimization for loading and performance
5+ years experience with SQL database design and administration.
Experience in design and implementation of multithreaded/concurrent/distributed systems.
Ability to work independently and remotely.
