A software company is in need of a Remote Data Engineer in Herndon.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Applying computer science, software engineering, databases, and distributed/parallel processing frameworks
  • Preparing big data for the use of data analysts and data scientists
  • Delivering data acquisition, transformations, cleansing, conversion, compression, and loading of data

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related and two to four years of professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals
  • Demonstrable experience engineering scalable data processing pipelines
  • Demonstrable expertise with Python, Scala, Spark, and wrangling of various data formats
  • Experience with Agile methodology, using test-driven development
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
