Job Summary
A non-profit media organization has an open position for a Remote Deputy Local Editor.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Helping to hire and manage local reporters and editors
- Designing and carrying out training sessions for our staff and our partners
- Coordinating between local partners and researchers, data visualization reporters, engagement reporters, audience and video staffers, and story producers
Position Requirements Include:
- Passion for and experience with local journalism
- Track record as an editor of landing revelatory stories about abuses of power
- Has exceptional organizational skills
- Can handle fast-breaking stories, months long reporting projects and exquisitely written narratives
