Job Summary

As a DevOps Engineer at VirBELA you will be working on a cross-disciplinary team that includes organizational psychologists, corporate leaders, virtual world specialists, and domain experts.
Position Summary
The core responsibility is to design, implement, maintain and optimize the DevOps pipeline spanning source control, build, test, package, deployment and delivery. You will collaborate with Dev, IT, QA and Art teams to ensure all requirements are understood and met.
Tasks
Design, implement and maintain a modern DevOps pipeline for a virtual world environment
Seek out automation opportunities, automation is your passion
Maintain enterprise repositories of art assets, source, and support artifacts
Develop and maintain scripts and utilities to support build automation
Design, create and maintain comprehensive documentation of best practices for all implemented system configurations
Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining disaster recovery plans
Packaging and Versioning with artifact management strategies
Document, organize, and maintain new code, helping to grow the company's code base
Inspire colleagues to continuously generate forward-thinking ideas and actively contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence
Other duties as assigned
Skills
Expert understanding of the software engineering lifecycle
Expert understanding of CI/CD principles, tools and techniques
Experience with Unity3D build automation a huge plus
Deploy and maintain automation tools for code release management and administration, such as TeamCity, BitBucket, and Artifactory
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with common database server technologies
Security and quality mindset
Requirements
Experience
B.S. in computer science or equivalent work experience
6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Senior Software Engineer or Automation Engineer
4+ years experience programming automation scripts or utilities in at least one language (Python, Perl, C#, etc.)
4+ years of hands-on experience with a build automation framework (i.e. Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, etc.)
2+ years working with Unity3D or similar 3D game engine
Experience working collaboratively with cross-disciplinary, art, programming, production and technology teams
Experience working on short-timeline, fast-paced projects
Must be a strong leader and teammate
Must be punctual, reliable, highly flexible, and excellent at balancing multiple detail-oriented projects
