The Diagnostics and Genomics Group (DGG) develops and markets a diverse set of innovative products and solutions for research, translational research, and diagnostics market segments globally.

Agilent DGG Project Management Office (DGG PMO) is a newly built function that drives the definition and management of programs, projects and initiatives that require coordination and interdependency between multiple parts of DGG, and are often tied to company level programs and resources.

Right here, where you will manage the development and delivery of large integrated customer solutions by transforming broad concepts into structured programs, leading the design and delivery of multi-national/multi-partner projects, delivering solutions for complex, high impact issues, and building effective client relationships.

Your main responsibilities as project manager will include:

Manage and coordinate execution of programs

Establish and coordinate cross-functional team. Ensure buy-in from functional managers, ensure that all team members understand and accept their responsibilities.

  • Lead programs to achieve objectives, driving prioritization, providing first-level escalation.
  • Ensure appropriate risk management by monitoring and driving resolution of issues and dependencies.
  • Facilitate and influence decision-making, making strategic decisions for the programs on a day-to-day basis and providing recommendations to executives for issues that are beyond your authority, effectively freeing up executives by focusing their time and attention to the most complex issues that have a significant impact to the company.
  • Track program budget
    Develop and lead management of change & communication plan
    Establish and nurture strong partnerships within Agilent's organization to drive management of change, working with functional managers and HR professionals to successfully transform the organization.
    Communicate programs' strategic intent throughout the company, demonstrating the ability to adapt messaging to audience
    Provide crisp regular program updates and communication, up to C-suite level, to build momentum and ensure strategic alignment through the organization. Ensure all stakeholders are informed of progress.
    Ensure project post-mortem is conducted and work with executive team to build on programs' learnings.
    Serve as the end-customer and business advocate, providing market insights to ensure implemented business solutions drive superior customer experience and meet the needs of the business and commercial organization.
    Develop common processes, tools and project governance to be leveraged on selected enterprise or transformation projects.
    Manage cross-functional, company-wide, matrixed project teams
    Manage the project/program team day-to-day.
    Act as liaison and meeting facilitator.
    Coach team and individuals for performance.
    As needed, work with functional managers to manage individual performance.
    Drive knowledge/best practice sharing, and collaboration across functions.
    For this part-time position, the ideal candidate would have to be available between 40% to 60% of a traditional working week (according to location). Ideal location for candidates in the US would we West Coast.
