The base salary range for this position is $42,000 to $75,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

This is a remote position.

A Disability Tax Reporting Analyst will:

Take ownership of all aspects of the operational, employer/employee reporting and relationship management, and tax reporting related functions associated with the company's payment of disability claims.

Essential Duties:

Collection and manipulation of claim payment data, preparation and distribution of bi-weekly, quarterly and annual disability withholding reports associated with the payment of Short-term and Long-term disability claims adjugated and paid by USAble Life.
Timely and accurate deposit of withheld taxes from these claim payments as well as timely and accurate filing of quarterly Forms 941 related to these claims.
Ensure accuracy of W-2 and FICA match elections contained in the company's administration system, preparation and distribution of disability claim Forms W-2 to claimants on or before Jan 31 of each year and related preparation and transmittal of electronic files to the Social Security Administration.
Timely customer service related to all of the above pursuant to IRS requirements maintained in Publication 15-A.
Professional conversations, emails and written communications, trouble-shooting and conflict-management with and between employers, claimants, agents/brokers, internal operations personnel, Internal Revenue Service personnel and re-insurer personnel while exhibiting professional judgment and technical expertise associated with disability tax rules.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem solving skills including attention to detail
Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent collaboration/relationship building skills
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Ability to handle a heavy workload and willing to work extended overtime hours as necessary
General knowledge of payroll related concepts

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree with requisite experience (see below)
Minimum 2 years experience in a corporate environment
Some knowledge of corporate administration software
Good Microsoft Office skills
Or, equivalent military experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
Experience with tax reporting software and/or payroll processing
Prior experience in insurance industry especially in Claims Administration/Adjudication
