Remote Editorial Tooling Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

An entertainment technology company is filling a position for a Remote Editorial Tooling Senior Backend Engineer.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Collaborating with key internal partners (both technical and non-technical) to determine what backend systems and APIs are needed to fill business needs
• Designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring backend services with focus on high availability, low latency and scalability
• Serving as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional, agile team to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives

Qualifications Include:

• 5+ years of working experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong proficiency in Java
• Demonstrated comfort building APIs and client libraries used by multiple engineering teams and have worked with technologies like gRPC, REST, and GraphQL
• Previous experience designing, building, and scaling backend services at scale
• Proven firm grasp of system design, architecture patterns, data structures, and algorithms and you know how to apply them pragmatically and with simplicity
• Familiarity with ML recommendation systems
• Ability to continuously and iteratively improve our products and services through structured experimentation
