Remote Emergency Department Medical Coder

Job Summary

A managed healthcare and insurance company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Emergency Department Medical Coder.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Providing documentation feedback to providers, as needed, and query physicians when appropriate
• Identifying appropriate assignment of CPT and ICD-10 Codes for outpatient Emergency Department services
• Abstracting additional data elements during the chart review process when coding, as needed

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
• Experience with ICD-10
• 2+ years of Outpatient Facility coding experience
• Ability to use a PC in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems
• Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC to be maintained annually
