Job Summary
An education non-profit needs applicants for an opening for a Remote English Language Arts Passage Searcher.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Researching, preparing and submitting high-quality passages that conform to the company's passage search guidelines
- Developing a deep understanding of provided project materials
- Working with readability measures, including online readability applications and qualitative complexity rubrics
Skills and Requirements Include:
- Degree in English, Library Science, or a related field
- Strong ELA content knowledge, specifically for grades 3–8 and high school
- Significant familiarity with the Common Core State Standards for Reading, Writing, and Language and the Appendix A text guidelines
- Passage searching experience for assessment purposes to CCSS rigor
- Understand bias and sensitivity guidelines for assessment passages
- Knowledge of literary and informational genres and sub-genres (such as, poetry, drama, science, social studies)
