Job Summary

A healthcare consulting and services company is filling a position for a Remote Facility and Profee ED Medical Coder.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Review claims data to ensure that assigned codes meet required legal and insurance rules
• Utilize specialized medical classification software to assign procedure and diagnosis codes for insurance billing
• Conduct medical records research and corresponds with insurance companies and healthcare professionals

Qualifications Include:

• Minimum of two years of ED (facility and profee) coding experience
• AHIMA credentialed CCS, CCSP and/or RHIT/RHIA required OR AAPC credentialed CPC required
• Satisfactory completion of e4 CM and Profee Coding Tests - 85% or above
• Solid knowledge of Emergency Department documentation, charging, and coding workflows
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Solid understanding of the use of E&M coding guidelines for both facility and profee assignment, CPT Assistant, and CPT modifiers
