Job Summary

A non-profit organization needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Forensic Veterinarian in Gainesville.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Performing clinical forensic exams, gross necropsies, completing reports for law enforcement, and expert witness testimony as needed
• Producing administrative reports and communicate progress updates and status as needed
• Assisting with planning large-scale case responses and participating in crime scene investigations

Position Requirements Include:

• Must be willing to travel on short notice (up to 50%)
• Doctorate: Veterinary Medicine (Required) and license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Florida
• Must provide a Department of Transportation Medical Certificate and pass a motor vehicle history check demonstrating a safe driving history
• Must be able to obtain a certificate in Veterinary Forensics within 2 years of hire
• Familiarity and experience with evidentiary issues related to the prosecution of animal abuse and neglect cases
• 3 - 5 years of experience in the practice of Veterinary Medicine
