Job Summary

Achievable is a small EdTech startup. Our focus today is on test preparation for high-stakes exams, like the GRE for graduate school admissions, the FINRA Series licenses for careers in wealth management, and the USMLE exam for medical doctors. Our long-term mission is to help people unlock opportunity in their lives more broadly, guiding them through their life-long journey of education, employment, and career advancement.

We're a small company with two founding team members: my co-founder leading the business and marketing efforts, and myself leading product and technology. We have two additional supporting teammates helping with administrative and marketing tasks. You'll be a founding member of our team and our first core hire. Although this is a contract role to start, we're hoping it will be a great fit that turns into a long-term relationship with the opportunity for growth.

We're an entirely remote company. We're comfortable working with people internationally. As long as we communicate well, keep a high quality level, and achieve our deadlines, you can do the work anywhere and anytime you'd like. We'll work closely together, collaborating through Slack, code reviews, and Zoom meetings depending on timezone and availability.

Tech stack: JavaScript / TypeScript (React, Node.js), GraphQL, MySQL

Projects will include:

  • Improving our student-facing learning platform, e.g. making study schedule planner
  • Improving our coach-facing platform, e.g. surfacing if students are on-track or off-track
  • Coding dynamic quiz questions with complex logic that change every time the student takes them
  • Analyzing study data to understand user behavior, feature usage, conversion optimization

  • The only firm requirement is interest in education and helping people succeed in life

    • Wishlist:
  • Beginner or intermediate experience with JavaScript (React, Node.js)
  • Full-time involvement, although we are also open to part-time
  • A contract length of 3 months or longer
  • Basic English communication skills
