Job Summary

SpeakWrite, founded in 1997, is the largest provider of non-medical transcription services in the United States. As the highest quality and most experienced provider of transcripts, our business continues to grow and as such we are further expanding our freelance transcriptionist team. We are seeking experienced general and legal transcriptionists to join our group of experts. Working as an independent contractor, you will be working from home and there are many evening and overnight schedules available.

You will be listening to a variety of audio inputs and transcribing them into text using our custom software. We provide training to help you become more effective, learn our processes, and earn more money as you become more efficient! Job types are mostly two person interviews or simple one person dictations.

Qualified general candidates must have two years transcription experience and a good working knowledge in the general document formatting of letters, memos, conversations, and client supplied templates. In addition, Legal candidates must have experience in creating legal pleadings, agreements, court headings, interrogatories, deposition summaries and formal correspondence. All contractors must be proficient in Word 2007/2010 and be able to work independently. Typing 60 words per minute and providing 90% or better accuracy is generally the minimum needed to be successful and maximize your earning potential. Also, having a high speed internet connection is highly recommended for downloading and uploading audio files and transcripts with our software. In addition, our platform does NOT support MAC computers; you will need a working computer or laptop that is not a MAC.
