Job Summary
A non-profit health care system has an open position for a Remote HIMS Coder.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Analyzing medical information from medical records
- Abstracting clinical diagnoses, procedure codes and documents other pertinent information
- Accurately coding diagnostic and procedural information
Required Skills:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge and specialized formal training
- Demonstrate a level of knowledge and understanding of ICD and CPT coding principles
- Six months providing coding services
- Work effectively with common office software and coding software
- Must be able to achieve an acceptable accuracy rate on the coding test
