Job Summary
A non-profit health care system is filling a position for a Remote HIMS Coder Quality Associate in Phoenix.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as the expert for our Outpatient Acute care coding guidelines
- Maintain coded data quality through ongoing quality reviews
- Review and interpret clinical medical record information as it applies to coding and abstracting processes
Skills and Requirements Include:
- Must have a working knowledge of NCCI edits
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management and current continuing education
- Requires Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P)
- OR Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administration (RHIA)
- Demonstrated proficiency in hospital and/or multiple physician specialty coding
- 3-5 years of current and progressively responsible coding experience required
