Job Summary
Overview:
We are a small, dynamic, communications company in search of a part-time human resources (HR) professional to help us grow. We are seeking a well-rounded self-starter capable of working independently with several years of experience in all facets of HR work. Some experience with a Federal government contractor would be ideal.
Responsibilities:
Conducts periodic pay surveys
Schedules and conducts job interviews
Monitors and schedules individual pay actions and recommends pay structure revisions
Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state requirements and maintaining records
Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures
Maintains historical records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records
Capable of building up staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
Skills Summary:
Candidate must be/have:
Ability to interpret and effectively present information in one-on-ones, small and large groups of employees.
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and word processing.
Ability to professionally represent company and maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
Experience with government contracts or proposal writing a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail

Bachelor's Degree
5+ years' experience in related field
