Remote Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Complex/Trauma Coder to review and code medical records for billing purposes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records
• Abstract information for patient databases to support medical research and patient care evaluations
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and reimbursement policies

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Degree in Medical Record Sciences preferred or completion of a relevant certification program
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
• Minimum of two years of coding experience required
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding systems
• Certification eligibility for RHIT, RHIA, or CCS must be obtained within six months of employment
