Job Summary
A Health Information Management company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Inpatient Coder.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Analyzing medical records, extracting clinical, pathological, therapeutic and epidemiologic data in accordance with established ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding principles and guidelines
- Ensuring that data is optimally coded for research purposes, financial reimbursement, planning, statistics, and regulatory reporting
- Communicating directly with physicians to ensure that clinical documentation is coded timely, accurately, and in compliance with CMS guidelines and national correct coding initiatives
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- An inpatient medical coder with 2-4 years of inpatient coding experience, and knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
- ICD-10-PCS and ICD-10-CM coding, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiar with an automated health care environment
- Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality of medical records
- Experience in an automated healthcare environment required (e.g., electronic medical records, encoder, 360 encompass, email communication)
