Job Summary

A healthcare company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Inpatient Coding Charge Specialist.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing medical records for the determination of accurate assignment
  • Reviewing medical records to determine accurate required abstracting elements
  • Demonstrating ability to achieve accuracy and consistency in the selection of principal and secondary diagnoses

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • Three to five years’ experience performing medical record coding in acute care setting
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • AHIMA or AAPC approved credential
  • Knowledge of MS-DRG classification and reimbursement structures
  • Understanding of appropriate level of care orders
  • Working knowledge of Value Based Purchasing
