Remote Inpatient Coding Coordinator

Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding for reimbursement and data collection, the full-time Remote Inpatient Coding Coordinator IV will manage the coding process, coordinate daily responsibilities of coding staff, and provide education on clinical documentation improvement.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct timely prebill reviews and audits of inpatient medical records to capture final DRG accurately
• Analyze clinical data to identify gaps in physician documentation and report trends for improvement
• Train and audit entry-level coders while communicating with healthcare providers to validate diagnoses and clinical indicators

Required qualifications:

• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification or equivalent
• College credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Three years of coding experience in a Health Information Management Department or equivalent
• Experience with implementing and maintaining computer systems
