Remote Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately codes inpatient records using the ICD10CM/PCS coding system
• Ensures compliance with coding rules and regulations according to regulatory agencies
• Abstracts prescribed data elements from medical records and collaborates to meet departmental goals

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required
• Must obtain CCS or RHIT certification within 2 years if not certified upon hire
• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient facility coding experience
• Knowledge of encoder systems, IPPS, DRG/MSDRGs, and relevant policies
