Remote Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Remote Inpatient Coding Quality Education Review Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct coding quality reviews for coding professionals in compliance with relevant guidelines and standards
• Identify educational needs and recommend training based on review findings
• Prepare audit summaries and monitor coding quality review schedules for effectiveness

Required Qualifications

• Healthcare related Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum five years of experience in coding quality reviews or coding audits, with three years in inpatient hospital coding
• Familiarity with DRGs, APCs, IPPS, OPPS, and medical necessity/compliance guidelines
• Experience working with CDI teams and multiple EMRs
• Relevant coding certifications such as CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CIC, or COC
