Job Summary
A healthcare provider is filling a position for a Remote Inpatient Coding Specialist in Hartford.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing and analyzing inpatient medical record documentation
- Applying ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codes to render appropriate reimbursement
- Supporting the coding of Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation, Newborn and Obstetric encounters
Skills and Requirements Include:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management preferred
- Requires ability to work Inpatient Billing and CHIME Edit
- 2-5 years of acute care inpatient coding experience
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding conventions
- Solid understanding of CPT and HCPCS coding
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, federal regulations and policies
