Remote Inpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare facilities remotely, the full-time or part-time Inpatient Facility Medical Coder will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate coding while meeting productivity and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify and select principal diagnoses and procedures for accurate DRG assignment
• Utilize IKS Health applications to code charts in real-time and maintain productivity and quality performance
• Participate in team meetings, training, and coding roundtables to enhance knowledge and skills in coding and Health Information Management

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of recent inpatient coding experience at a large acute care facility
• CCS coding credential required
• Proficiency with Cerner, Epic, and 3M 360 coding systems
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes
