Job Summary

A healthcare company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Inpatient Medical Coder in Modesto.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Coding, analyzing, and abstracting patient records
• Reviewing medical records to assign diagnosis and procedure codes
• Communicating with the physician and/or hospital departments for clarification

Required Skills:

• 3+ years acute care hospital Inpatient Coding experience
• Ability to take and pass Coding Marker exam prior to hire
• Ability to review medical records to correctly abstract POA indicators
• Ability to keep abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
• Ability to report concerns to assigned Coding Quality Coordinator and/or Manager for resolution
