Remote Inpatient Medical Coding Team Member

Job Summary

A non-profit healthcare organization is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Inpatient Medical Coding Team Member.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Assign codes and modifiers into the hospital encoder system
• Determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures for Inpatient records
• Ensure all collected data is accurate, complete and compliant with state and federal regulations

Required Skills:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
• Demonstrates experience and a proven track record in Coding in a facility of significant size and complexity
• Experience participating in Coding standards, processes, policies, procedures and service level agreements
• Knowledge of hospital inpatient, outpatient, and/or emergency department coding rules
• Knowledge of computer based encoder systems and accurate data entry skills
