Remote Inpatient Quality Reviewer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Remote Inpatient Quality Reviewer will access and review medical record documentation for coding accuracy using ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT systems, while entering findings into proprietary quality review software and addressing coder rebuttals as needed.

Key responsibilities:

• Review medical records for coding accuracy and compliance with quality review policies
• Utilize facility EMR and scanning technology to conduct thorough reviews of patient records
• Document review findings and respond to coder rebuttals in a timely manner

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of medical coding or review experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent (relevant experience may substitute formal education)
• Active credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CIC, or COC
• Commitment to maintaining coding credentials while employed
• Ability to pass the coding competency exam
