Job Summary
A non-profit health care company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Inpatient Specialty Coder.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Coding cases utilizing a computerized encoding software system
- Verifying abstracting of discharge disposition
- Completing abstraction for clinical data
Qualifications for this position include:
- Coding Specialist (CCS) certification issued by the AHIMA, or an RHIA or RHIT
- 7 years of experience in ICD-10-CM & ICD-10-PCS progressive inpatient coding experience
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and pathophysiology, pharmacology
- Knowledge of, but not limited to, current Official Coding Guidelines and methodologies
- Extensive knowledge with Quality Outcomes
