Job Summary

A regional non-profit medical practice has an open position for a Remote Insurance Claims Representative in Santa Barbara.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Assuring timely reimbursement of clean claims to, correcting denied claims, and appealing denied or delayed claims
• Compiling and updating revenue cycle management on detailed information regarding specific insurance plan trends
• Processing revenue and bad debt adjustments and processing insurance refund requests as appropriate

Qualifications for this position include:

• Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team environment with minimal direct supervision
• Expert knowledge of all health care payer denial reasons, denials codes and descriptions and standard denial resolution practices
• Ability to adapt to varied, age-specific and/or specialized groups
• Ability to understand use, function, interpret, document, and keep records
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
