A nonprofit news organization has an open position for a Remote Investigative Senior Editor.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Establishing and upholding rigorous journalistic standards of fairness and accuracy
- Providing editing support and oversight on individual projects
- Supervising staff writers and guiding them to envision and execute ambitious accountability journalism
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Ability to coach reporters through sensitive reporting challenges
- Substantial experience in conceiving and editing investigative projects with impact
- Facility with investigative tools such as public records requests, source development, bulletproofing
- Experience in working with data-driven articles and data journalists
- Ability to manage reporters - and teams - who are working remotely
- Ability to work with reporters of varying levels of experience and skills
