Job Summary
To support coding compliance and quality assurance initiatives, the full-time Remote IP Facility Coder with CCS will manage coding policies, conduct audits, and provide training while working remotely from New Mexico.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison to various departments, addressing coding, auditing, compliance, and training issues
- Research coding and billing compliance issues, recommending corrective action plans to ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist in the creation of the annual audit work-plan based on regulatory guidelines and internal risk assessments
Required qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and at least one certification (RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS) with a minimum of three years of coding/auditing experience
- Proficient knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer documentation, coding, and billing regulations
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of conducting research using various resources
