Remote IRF Coding Team Lead

Job Summary

To support the day-to-day coding operations for acute rehab units, the full-time Remote IRF Coding Team Lead will manage coding staff, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive improvements in coding accuracy while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing coding staff activities, perform coding and abstracting, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Onboard, train, and supervise coding department staff to maintain quality coding and acceptable turnaround times
• Act as a resource for coding staff and hospital departments while promoting teamwork and a positive working environment

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, health information management, or a related field is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
