Remote Lead Server Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting a large-scale, hybrid server infrastructure, the remote contract Remote Lead Server Engineer will ensure high availability and security of enterprise environments while driving modernization projects and automating server administration tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure high availability, stability, and optimum performance of enterprise server environments
• Lead server security initiatives, including vulnerability remediation and permissions management
• Drive modernization projects such as provisioning, upgrading, and tech-debt reduction

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5 years supporting enterprise Windows Server and Unix/Linux environments
• Deep experience in Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, AIX, or Solaris
• Proven track record delivering vulnerability remediation in large-scale enterprise settings
• Scripting proficiency with PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Strong understanding of OS hardening, patch management, and secure configuration
