Job Summary

A hosting company is filling a position for a Remote Level 1 Web Hosting Support.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Installing and upgrading web software
  • Troubleshooting PHP, Apache, DNS, mail, FTP, SSH, and MySQL problems
  • Restoring backups and doing cPanel migrations

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Good understanding of Linux, especially CentOS 7 with WHM/cPanel
  • Knowledge of required settings for email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird, and Mac Mail and ability to coach users
  • Some experience with php, css, html and web server configuration
  • Facility with a wide variety of software including word processing, CLI-based text editors, chat clients, mail clients, softphones, and other internet technologies
  • Some familiarity with Windows Server and RDP
  • Direct customer interaction experience
