Job Summary

A next-generation LGBTQ racial and gender justice organization is filling a position for a Remote LGBTQ School Advocacy and Policy Manager.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing and implementing the organization's youth and education justice policy agenda for LGBTQ+ youth of color
  • Representing organization in California statewide coalitions that advance policy agenda
  • Developing presentations and facilitating trainings on policy and advocacy related political education

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • Willingness and ability to travel statewide or nationally (if it is safe to travel)
  • Public Policy educational background or 1-2 years relevant work experience in public, health or education policy
  • 1-2 years experience with community-led policy advocacy
  • Strong writing skills to write and revise proposed policies, letters of support
  • Ability to maintain daily communication and use of organizational channels
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
