Job Summary

An academic medical center is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Licensed PRN Inpatient Coding Specialist III.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Code concurrent or retrospective inpatient accounts using ICD-10 CM/PCS
• Identify most appropriate Admit Diagnosis, Principal Diagnosis, and Procedure for the DRG
• Abstract required data elements including discharge information, procedure dates, and physician(s)

Qualifications Include:

• 3-5 years acute hospital based coding experience
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)\n\n – Preferred knowledge of 3M 360 and EPIC
