Remote Maintenance Technical Director

Job Summary

Driving the technical excellence of a 24/7 AWS platform, the full-time Remote Maintenance Technical Director will oversee architecture, engineering, and maintenance activities for mission-critical applications serving Veterans, ensuring high availability and operational reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior technical oversight for architecture, engineering, and maintenance activities, ensuring 99.995% incident-free availability
• Lead the design and delivery of the Multi-Region Enablement Plan, including failover strategies and cost modeling for AWS environments
• Enforce 100% Infrastructure as Code (IaC) provisioning and manage certificate lifecycle to ensure timely renewals of TLS certificates

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related field
• 10 years of experience in cloud platform engineering and technical leadership
• Expertise in AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and operational reliability practices
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Active Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance or eligibility for clearance
