Job Summary
An information technology company is in need of a Remote Market Forecasting Applied Scientist.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Developing and building large-scale models of crop production
- Collaborating to develop and validate market hypotheses
- Collaborating to develop new products and feature datasets
Position Requirements Include:
- Advanced degree in relevant scientific or quantitative field or industry experience
- Solid understanding of commodity economics with some knowledge of agriculture
- Experience developing statistical, machine learning, and/or simulation models
- Proficiency in Python, or in another scientific programming language
- Experience working with, or knowledge of, remote sensing and geospatial data
- Familiarity with cloud-based and/or distributed computing
