Job Summary
A nonprofit medical practice and medical research group is seeking a Remote Medical and Surgical Transcriptionist.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Performs transcription and/or editing of patient care documentation ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Dictations may include patient assessment, workup, diagnostic and surgical procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, etc., in inpatient (hospital) and outpatient (clinic) departments
- Support for special projects and back-up coverage in answering telephones and providing related follow-through
Position Requirements Include:
- Requires successful completion of a vocational or associates degree program in medical transcription or medical secretary with main focus on transcription
- Requires excellent application of grammar, punctuation, and English usage
- Should be able to understand diverse accents and speech variations
- Must possess strong skills in listening, attention to detail, organization, clerical aptitude, and interpersonal relations
