Job Summary
To support the coding needs of VA and Federal healthcare services, the Remote Medical Coder will perform outpatient and inpatient coding, ensuring compliance with regulations while working remotely within the United States.
Key responsibilities
- Perform coding for outpatient, ancillary, prosthetics, and ambulatory surgery services
- Review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness in coding
- Ensure compliance with VA coding requirements and participate in technical evaluations
Required qualifications
- Active AHIMA or AAPC credential (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CDIP, CPC, CPC-H)
- 6-8 years of inpatient or outpatient coding experience
- Accredited education in Coding, Health Information Management, or Health Information Technology
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to satisfy VA security/access requirements
